Kristin Stein - Meers

Stein Equine

Kristin Stein Meers grew up with a mother that loved the equestrian sport so it is no surprise she inherited the same passion instantly. She had her first small pony named “Little Guy” and started riding immediately when she was able to sit up on her own as a toddler. Her riding had a very well round background, as she started in hunters and jumpers, but also dabbled in western riding as a child. Around age 14, she decided she wanted to do eventing but knew little about dressage, so dressage lessons became a necessity. Soon this beautiful sport of dressage became so addicting it became her identity. While she did compete through training level eventing, she decided to pursue dressage as her main focus. Kristin graduated early her junior year from high school and moved to Germany to train with Claus Meiners- Pilz, where she would live for three years.

Upon returning to the United States in 2004, she turned professional and Stein Equine was created. Kristin has been lucky enough to work with many internationally accredited trainers and instructors over the years. Her mentors have included many top Grand Prix riders here in the USA, Germany and Spain. From each one of these she has taken knowledge and molded it into her own recipe for success.

Kristin is a USDF Silver and Bronze Medalist and has competed at many regional and national championships, winning or placing in almost all of them since 2009. She also rode the 2011 KWPN highest scoring mare, Zoe Isabella, to win the IBOP test. Her career has included training and competing many young horses through to the FEI levels. Her students continue to also be successful regionally and nationally.

She has been training out of Shade Tree Farm since 2011. She has found a strong mentor in Betsy and trains with her daily. This past 2017-2018 winter was her first season to stay in Wellington, Florida and compete at Global Dressage Festival. Kristin is currently competing Shade Tree Farm's Doktor House in the Developing Prix St Georges.
